At six months, your pet can be spayed or neutered. There is large amount of unwanted dogs born each year, so this is a responsible decision that many people make, and it’s totally up to the owner. Additionally, neutering reduces the incidence of breast cancer and other reproductive diseases.
What should be expected with a new puppy or kitten?
During the first year of your pet’s life, veterinary care is very important. On your first visit, it is a good idea to take your pet to the vet the first day he/she gets home. We can examine your pet for any existing conditions, and set a schedule for future care. When they are under four months, your puppy will need a selection of specific vaccines during this period. During their four to six months stage, puppies and kittens require a variety of vaccinations during their first four months, after which time the first rabies vaccine can be administered. And in the six months to one year period, your puppy will not visit the vet as frequently during this period and after one year; he or she likely will only need to visit the vet for an annual wellness exam.
